Four gates, four different jobs
A drive gate is not one product. The right mechanism depends on how much room the driveway gives it to move, how much slope it has to work against, and how wide the opening actually is. We walk that with you before we draw anything, because a gate picked off a catalogue page for the wrong driveway is a gate that gets left open.
Wood, iron, or both
Because we fabricate our own ironwork in house, we are not limited to one material per gate. A lot of our drive gates mix and match, cedar infill for privacy set inside an iron frame, or an iron gate with a wood-look panel worked into the design. Every gate we build is custom to the opening it will hang in, not resized from a standard width.

Picking a mechanism
Slope, space, and how wide the opening is.
Swing gates
A single or double leaf that arcs into the yard or the drive when it opens. Swing gates generally suit a level or gently sloped approach where there is clear ground for the leaf to travel through, and they tend to be the simplest mechanism to maintain over the years.
Cantilever gates
A cantilever gate rolls along a track set back from the opening rather than swinging through it, so nothing crosses the driveway itself as it moves. That makes it a fit for a steep drive, a tight turnaround, or a spot where a swinging leaf would clear a car or a slope badly.
Rolling gates
Similar idea to a cantilever, a rolling gate travels on a ground track along the fence line. It suits a wide opening where a single long leaf makes more sense than two shorter swing leaves, and where the ground along the track can be prepared and kept clear.
Electronic gates with full access control
Any of the above can be automated with an operator, a keypad or intercom, and remotes, so the gate opens on a code, a call, or a click instead of a hand on the latch. We wire and program the access control alongside the gate itself, not as a separate trade.
None of this is a fixed rule, every driveway is different, which is why we look at the site before we recommend a mechanism.

An electronic gate is only as good as the operator running it, so we work with the manufacturers that gate installers trust across the metro: LiftMaster, Chamberlain, DoorKing, HySecurity, Linear OSCO and Nice Apollo. We size and program the operator for the gate we build, keypad, intercom or remote entry included, rather than treating the mechanism as a separate job from the fabrication.
